The children’s ministry at Chilson Hills Church has been set up to provide a consistent, nurturing environment for the youngest members of our congregation to grow in knowledge and faith
We want this to be a place where children can explore God’s world, ask questions, express their faith, and feel loved. It is our hope that they will develop lasting friendships with adults and children that will help them establish a relationship with Jesus that will last a lifetime.
As we welcome your children to the ministries of our church, we will offer opportunities for learning and fellowship. Through Sunday School, choirs, mission and service projects, and worship experiences, your children will see God’s love in action. Our children also enjoy many family-oriented special events throughout the year, which connect them with our community of faith.
Our children’s ministry wants to support families and partner with parents along the journey. Please let us know of ways that we can minister with you.
Prior to the 10:30 worship service, please sign in your children at the children’s check-in table at the back of the worship center. During the 10:30 worship service, children attend the first part of the worship service with their parents and then are invited to the front for a children’s sermon from Pastor D.J. At the conclusion of the children’s sermon, children are dismissed to attend their Sunday School classes downstairs in the lower level (PreK – 5th Grade). Parents can pick up their children in the lower level after signing them out.
We also have a weekly children’s program led by Pastor D.J. Reed called, “Bible Black Belts.” The program teaches Bible study skills and helps children learn significant verses found in Scripture. Bible Black Belts takes place each Wednesday, 6:30-7:30 PM. Children are welcome to come as early as 6:00 PM for a time of fun and games.
The Children’s Ministry is led by the Children’s Ministry Team, which also coordinates several special events throughout the year. Vacation Bible School continues to be the high point of the Children’s Ministry year.
