Chilson Hills Church is encouraging its members to give to the following causes during this season of Advent. Experience the joy of Christmas that comes from generosity as you consider giving to the following causes.
Give to the Severe Weather Network and the Severe Weather Center
The Severe Weather Center is the only ministry that shelters people affected by homelessness in Livingston County. In the past, Chilson has been the site where the Severe Weather Center was housed, however, this year, due to recommendations from the health department, the Severe Weather Center has had to change its operations dramatically. The ministry will still need your volunteer contributions for meals, but they also need your financial support. Giving Tree at Chilson Hills Church
Contribute to a ministry that helps sustain people in need throughout our county. Last year, we gave away hundreds of dollars worth of gift cards that you gave to last year’s Giving Tree ministry. This year, we won’t have the gift card box, but you can give to the Giving Tree fund with an online donation. Your gift will be used to purchase cards for our giving tree ministry. You can also purchase a card and mail it to the church (P.O. Box 431, Brighton, MI 48116). djreed@chilsonhills.org.

Retired Ministers and Missionaries Offering
The Retired Ministers and Missionaries Offering (RMMO) originated in the mid-1930s, when American Baptist congregations received a Communion Fellowship Offering on the first Sunday of each month to support retired ministers, missionaries, their widowed spouses and elderly clergy within their churches. In 1977, American Baptist Churches USA launched RMMO to continue this appreciation of God’s service.
Every year, on Christmas Eve, Chilson Hills Church participates in this offering to honor the true strength and dedication of ministers, missionaries and their widowed spouses who have devoted 15 years or more to ABCUSA.
