Join us for Summer Book Club 2024!
If you are on the fence about joining us this summer, I get it.
The summer season is full of obligations pulling us in multiple directions; Grad parties; vacation; work; family functions etc.
I just want to say, even if you cannot make it to the sessions,
I encourage you to pick up a copy anyway and read this book.
You will not regret it.

I look forward to book club and I take book selection very seriously. Who knew!?

This is my fifth book club at Chilson and each one has offered unique insight, conversation, prayer, and spiritual exploration
that is unique to each person that has attended.
This one will be just as enlightening!

I want to tell you how wonderful it is that you are investing in your personal spiritual formation this summer.
Being a part of a book club or Bible study is an essential part of growing in your faith and spiritual journey and also an important part of Discipleship.
When we make time to chew on the words that we read and converse in community we are participating in the act of Discipleship.
While we gain new perspective we also grow in our relationship with God by asking questions and
making space for the Holy Spirit to reveal herself to us in new ways.

So, with that, I invite you to pick up a copy of
Present Over Perfect: Leaving Behind Frantic For A Simpler, More Soulful Way of Living by Shauna Niequist.
There is also a guided journal and a study guide available if you are interested in purchasing those, although they are not required for the book club.
I will be using the study guide to lead us through our sessions.
(The above are links to Amazon so you can see the book, study guide, and guided journal.
However, I encourage you to buy from Two Dandelions book store on main street in Brighton, if you can.)

Again, I am so grateful to be able to walk through this summer with all of you as we consider the ways that we can be more present and spiritually awakened.
Looking forward to seeing you!
